- How do I transfer credits earned at a previous college to Seattle Central?
First register for classes. Then submit an incoming transcript evaluation request and you will receive an evaluation in the mail in 6-8 weeks.
- Why transfer credits to Seattle Central Community College?
If your are working toward a degree or certificate, the transfer credit would apply to the program. If you plan to attend our campus for more than one quarter, you are allowed to register online.
- What is an "Official Transcript"?
An "official" is one that is:
Mailed by your former college directly to the Admission's office, OR
Delivered by you, (unopened in an envelope which has been officially sealed by your former school) to the Admissions office at Seattle Central Community College, Room BE1107.
Please Note: It is the student's responsibility to submit an "official" transcript from former colleges and incoming transcript evaluation. We strongly recommend you to also request an "unofficial transcript" from your previously attended schools for your personal records and reference.

- What kind of Grading System is used at Seattle Central?
Seattle Central Community College uses a numerical grading system. Please refer to the College Catalog for equivalent letter grades.
- How do I Determine My GPA?
Determine the decimal grade which has been assigned to each class.
Determine the number of credit hours assigned to each class.
Multiply the decimal grade you received by the number of credit hours assigned to each course. This gives you your "grade points" (GPTS) for each course.
Add together the total number of grade points received for the quarter.
Add the total number of credit hours for all courses for the quarter.
Divide the total grade points received for the quarter by the total number of credit hours for the quarter. THIS GIVES YOU YOUR QUARTERLY GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA).
Take the total number of grade points received for ALL quarters and divide by the total number of credit hours received for U quarters. THIS GIVES YOU YOUR CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA).
