Student Conduct

Educationally Supportive Environment

It is the intention of Seattle Central to provide both a safe and nurturing environment for students, faculty and staff. To maintain and promote that environment, the college subscribes to a specific code of conduct, which is in accord with the Washington Administrative Code for all public institutions.

Policies and procedures outlined by the WAC.

It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of the Student Conduct Code, and participate positively in the Seattle Central environment. The Student Conduct Code is available in the Seattle Central Student Handbook, revised annually, and available at the Seattle Central Bookstore, Student Leadership, Division Offices and other locations on campus.

The spirit of the code is reflected in:

  • Maintaining high standards of academic integrity,
  • Respecting the rights of others,
  • Refraining from actions that endanger themselves or others,
  • Complying with district and college rules and regulations, and
  • Complying with civil authority.

Infractions of the Code

Infractions of the code are subject to intervention, sanctions or disciplinary action. As faculty, if you experience classroom disruption resulting from misconduct, or witness misconduct on school premises, please see your Dean or Division Counselor and use the Student Conduct Incident Report.

Submit the completed report to the Student Conduct Officer, Crystina Mai Mostad. For more information, Crystina can be reached at extension 6946 or in room 4180.

While the intent of this page is informational, exact wording of the WAC provisions and any applicable policies and procedures are available from the office of the Student Conduct Officer and on the district website.
